Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends soul gospel jazz and R&B in a signature mix. She's performed on Broadway as well as at the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Although she's located in Atlanta however, her ancestors are in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was first introduced to the idea of becoming a musician by playing and singing in the church. She attended Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her journey to become a musician within the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first track to include her voice was Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan The song has been re-mixed by many producers and is a staple in her live show. Her voice is also included in the music video for The Fighting Temptations. She was then hired to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to be the choral leader for this stage show. Sunshine earned national fame in her four performances during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2008 inauguration.
